The seventh and final season of "Young Sheldon" is coming soon.
The show, which is a spin-off of smash hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory," centers on a younger version of Jim Parsons's character, Sheldon Cooper. The once-in-a-generation mind, even as a child, is capable of advanced mathematics and science, but incapable of playing sports.
According to CBS, "Young Sheldon" has been a consistent ratings winner since it premiered as the No. 1 new comedy of the 2017-18 television season and became the No. 1 comedy in the 2019-2020 season after "The Big Bang Theory" completed its run, the network said. The show remains the No. 1 comedy for the 2022-23 season, per CBS.
"As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, 'Young Sheldon' proved lightning can strike twice," Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement in November 2023. "We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and giving it a proper sendoff with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy."
