A Colorado mother is wanted by police in connection with the killing of two of her three children, officials said Thursday.
Police responded to a burglary call at the home of 35-year-old Kimberlee Singler on Dec. 19. When they arrived, they found Singler and her 11-year-old daughter injured, and her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son dead, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Singler and her 11-year-old were taken to a local hospital.
Considered a witness and a victim at the time, police allowed Singler to leave the hospital as there was not enough probable cause to suggest she was connected to her children's deaths, police said. But "as the investigation into this case unfolded, it was determined the initial report of a burglary was unfounded."
"At this time Ms. Singler is the primary suspect," the department said in a statement to USA TODAY.
Kimberlee Singler was last seen Saturday
Police are now looking for Singler, who faces 10 criminal charges.
Singler was last seen on Saturday and had been staying at a family member's home, police said. The department's Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force is currently searching for her in an "active investigation."
Anyone with information Singler's whereabouts and or the investigation in general should call the department at (719) 444 - 7000 or their anonymous Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477.
What criminal charges does she face?
Police have declined to discuss how the children were killed or the nature of Singler's and her surviving daughter's injuries.
The court has set a $10 million bond for if and when Singler is arrested. Police said she faces the following charges:
- Two counts – Murder in the First Degree, Class One Felony

- One count – Criminal Attempt – Murder in the First Degree, Class Two Felony
